As many people know, I play lacrosse. This sport is one of my hobbies. I always love to play lacrosse but one thing that really makes me glad that I chose lacrosse instead of another sport is the games. I love the feeling when the fans are cheering you on, scoring a goal and everyone on the team celebrate. I love the feeling of accomplishment once a game is done, especially when we win. For the people who don’t know anything about lacrosse here is a website to explain the rules of the game complete history and rules of lacrosse.
I have played lacrosse for five years now, and I still have many things to improve on. Most people think lacrosse is really easy but really it’s not. At first, not everybody is able to catch, cradle, scoop, and throw a lacrosse ball from the stick , but most people get it after a while.

Positions
My position on the field is center, obviously I stand in the center of the field. The other offense positions are, two attack-wings, one high attack, and two low attack. The defensive positions are two defense wings, one high defense, two low defense and the goalie. The center has a giant circle around it where the offense wings and defense wings stand. Behind that there is a line called the restraining line. The high and low defense and offense stand behind that line, and are not allowed to go past mid-field.
Rules
There are some basic rules to lacrosse but also some complicated ones. Sometimes they are difficult to remember.
Three seconds: an offensive player must not be guarded by a defender for more than three seconds or they get the ball.
Shooting space: when an offensive player is running towards the goal a defensive player may not stand directly in front of them, blocking them from the goal
Eight meter: there are two arks, the eight meter and the twelve meter the defense can never be inside the eight meter without being a sticks length away from their offense player or the offensive player with the ball gets a free shot.
Out of bounds: simple enough, when the ball is shot, if it misses the goal then the first player to the boundary line gets the ball, but if the ball is passed then if it goes out of bounds, it is given to the next team.
Crease: around the goal there is a circle called a crease, no player is allowed to go into the crease, if they do then it is the goalies ball.
Covering and raking: when the ball is on the ground a person can’t cover the ball with their stick and they can’t pull it towards themself.
Above the shoulders and basic checking: when a person is defending another person they can’t check the other persons stick above the person’s shoulders. Also no checking into another person and no checks from behind.
Freeze: once the ref’s whistle blows everyone on the field must stop moving until the next whistle blow.
Four meters: when you have commited a penalty you must go four meters behind the person who was hurt.
Tripping: there is no tripping of another person
Pocket: when a ball is in a sticks pocket the ball must be visible over the top rim of the stick.
girl’s lacrosse is a no-contact sport, no pushing, no slashing, no kicking, no hitting, your stick must not touch their body.
